On the 9th and 10th October the UK Lura Care team exhibited at the Care Show Birmingham, the United Kingdom’s leading social care event. The show brings together individuals, groups and organisations who share a common vision to improve the quality of care in the adult social care sector.
Offering 360-degree view of social care with exhibition stands and educational sessions led by experts who shared their best practices, the Care Show Birmingham was an outstanding opportunity to network and learn from the experiences shared by other companies and care professionals.
Most importantly, we could exhibit our pioneering model of residential dental care that breaks the mobility barrier and allows us to attend to dependent people or those with mobility problems within care homes and day centres.
With the confirmation and agreement with the care homes, we carry out a free of charge, non-obligatory oral health assessment to all their residents, and we recommend the subsequent treatments that we consider important to be carried out in each particular case.
In agreement with the family of each patient, at Lura Care we plan the treatments that can be carried out onsite, at the patient’s place of residence. We also manage the adapted transport and accompaniment service for transfers to dental clinics or hospitals should the resident have complex needs, such as sedation or a contraindication to their medication.
Since our Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration in March 2024, we have based our first dental hub in Hampton Hill, London, where we have been able to serve more than 500 patients from approximately thirty care homes located around the country, such as Windsor, Kent, Surrey and Hertfordshire.
Our goal for the coming years is to continue investing in the United Kingdom to be able to open offices in other major cities in the country, such as Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Newcastle, ensuring that no person is left without the dental care they need.
We had two intense days at the Care Show Birmingham, and left feeling very excited and extremely grateful for the acknowledgement of the need that our service brings to the care sector and the interest it has stirred among all the people who visited our stand keen to know more about our unique dental care approach.
