Yesterday we had the pleasure to participate in the business event organised by ACCIÓ, the Catalan Government’s Agency for Business Competitiveness, as part of the 37th America’s Cup that these days is been held in Barcelona.
In the amazing setting of the Club Natació Barcelona, enjoying privileged views as INEOS Britannia advanced to the Final, companies with business in the United Kingdom, including Lura Care, had the opportunity to discuss with Lloyd Milen, British Consul General in Barcelona, and Chris Barton CMG, HM Trade Commissioner for Europe, the challenges we face in expanding our business in the UK.
Xavier Comas, Global COO and General Manager at Lura Care UK, highlighted the shortage of dentists in the country, and called for the streamlining of immigration processes to facilitate the transfer of talent from our home country, Spain.
Since the opening of our first dental hub in Hampton Hills, London, at Lura Care we have signed an agreement with a group of care homes for the elderly and people with disability. Thanks to this, in just four months we have already served more than 500 patients from around thirty centres located around the British capital, in towns such as Windsor, Sittingbourne and Folkestone.
Our objective for the coming years is to continue investing in the UK in order to be able to open offices in other large cities in the country, such as Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Newcastle.
The event was also a new opportunity to spend the day with Saskia van Brakel from the ACCIÓ office in London, and Jessica Griffiths from the Department for Trade & Business of the British Consulate. Once again, we want to extend our deepest gratitude for all their support in launching our company in the UK.
